源氏物语
桐壶帝（花川蝶十郎 饰）宠妃更衣遭到其他嫔妃妒嫉，为免更衣之子遭人陷害，桐壶帝将其降为臣属，赐姓源氏。光源氏（花ノ本寿 饰）风流倜傥，文采横溢，但仕途坎坷。故而他自幼徘徊于红花绿草中，乐此不疲。与原配妻子葵姬的感情不和，他转而追求父亲的妃子藤壶（芦川いづみ 饰），光源狂热的追求换来藤壶感情上的痛苦。最终这不伦之恋令藤壶产下一子，桐壶帝则视同己出。期间光源氏四下追求各类女子，空蝉、夕颜、六条妃子等皆在他的生命中留下重要痕迹。进香之际，光源邂逅藤壶的侄女紫姬（浅丘ルリ子 饰），最终将年幼的紫姬带回府邸抚养，将其培养成心中理想的女性。 爱情虽然甜蜜，却仍要承受别离的痛苦，风光无限的光源氏更要亲自面对每一次的别离和失去本片根据日本同名古典小说改编。
