Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 温德尔和怀尔德

真事信不信
大卫·伯恩,约翰·古德曼,斯波尔丁·格雷,迪图·拉里瓦,斯薇兹·昆茨本片以主人公大卫·布莱恩架车游历美国得克萨斯州过程中所见所闻为主线，透过一个个具有鲜明个性的小人物及发生在他们身上的故事，展示了当地人对于生活和爱情的独特理解。该片值得称道的是将歌舞与写实完美结合，大量旋律优美的乡村民谣,歌曲成为片中最耀眼的亮点，也是导演大卫·布莱恩对电影艺术的创新之举，是一次成功的探索。
