Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　林美嘉（李昕芸 饰）、安晓晨（李媛 饰）和陈宇林（范逸臣 饰）大学时代便认识的好友，晓晨与宇林更是亲密的情侣。毕业后这对闺蜜共同进入一家服装设计公司，在残酷的职场中果敢自信的晓晨扶摇直上，很快成为一支团队的负责人，这让美嘉心中难免有所芥蒂。某次二人受公司指派去泰国寻找素材，希望转运的美嘉坚持要去某个偏僻所在向法师求佛牌。此后，两人在泰国遭遇离奇火灾，晓晨命丧异国他乡，美嘉则侥幸逃生，但失去了泰国之行的所有记忆。身为心理医生的宇林固然伤心，同时希望通过自己的专业技能帮助美嘉走出阴影。　　可是这番治疗丝毫没有效果，美嘉被恐怖的幻觉所困扰，情况愈演愈烈……
