该影片讲述9.18事变后，大批文物向西南迁移，1939年，抬棺匠人宋忠义被年轻寡妇杨桃雇佣，送亡夫棺材回乐山安谷镇安葬，路上遇到心怀叵测的道士想要抢夺棺材，被宋忠义赶跑后，杨桃说出实话，她其实是故宫博物馆的专家，棺材里面并非尸体而是文物宝藏，宋忠义妻女正是死于日本人之手，于是答应护送文物至约定地点，一路上遭遇卖国贼埋伏，山贼拦截，亲信背叛，在生死边缘徘徊，最终抵达安谷镇，将文物归还给国家的故事。

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. In this fictionalized biography, young Pancho Villa takes to the hills after killing an overseer in revenge for his father's death. In 1910, he befriends American reporter Johnny Sykes.
