　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

　　帕兹和西蒙是一对夫妇，他们与西蒙的女儿生活在一个小镇上。西蒙是一支女子足球队的教练。一个偶然的机会，西蒙的女儿在踢球时发现有人正在进行宗教仪式。她走近并拿走了一个器物，然而不久之后，女儿神秘失踪了。西蒙和帕兹非常担心女儿的安危，他们四处打听消息，而西蒙尤为焦急。为了找到女儿，帕兹一方面为她祈祷，一方面寻求灵媒的协助。通过与西蒙的接触，灵媒得以看到一些景象：一个男人被两个人杀害，小女孩藏在床底下，倒立的十字架，红色窗帘覆盖在尸体上。　　西蒙听到这些描述感到震惊和恐惧，他急不可耐地与久未联系的母亲取得联系，希望她能帮忙打听消息。帕兹的表哥在警局工作，他虽然知道FBI已经接手此案，但仍愿意协助打听消息。于是，西蒙和表哥一起前往人员繁忙的红灯区。就在他们与负责该区域的警官交谈时，一个妓女认出了西蒙，但叫他罗伯特。西蒙坚称她认错了人，妓女于是在纸巾上写下一行字，邀请他私下交谈。当晚，西蒙前往约定地点，但发现妓女已被杀。

 西元2274年人类居住在由电脑控制的城市中，在这个城市中无优无虑，可自由毫无拘束的追求享乐；但到30岁时每一个人必须接受考验，一个探究永恒、重生的试炼……
