Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　潇洒是一个船员，整天在海上漂泊，一去就是几个月，他的妈妈和小妹阿珍都很担心他。一天，潇洒回到家，妹妹非常惊喜，可是他的妈妈并不开心，觉得他没有出息。潇洒很是委屈，于是借酒消愁。阿珍和她的妈妈靠开小店为生，每天，早晨都有很多出租司机来照顾她们的生意，其中有一位司机阿光对阿珍有意思，经常来帮助她们。一天，政府通知他们，房子半年后要撤，但是他们一时又拿不出钱去买新的房子，为了筹钱，于是一家人在阿光的帮助……
